The Little Blue Valley Area Plan should start with the idea of planning around the Little Blue Trace Trail. Developing a system of walking, jogging, and bicycle paths in and around neighborhoods that eventually lead to the Trace Trail is of upmost importance. All future neighborhoods should be required to have trails and open space without question. Because of the thousands of acres of un-developed land within the Little Blue Valley Area Plan boundaries it is the time to paint a big picture NOW with implementation later. Typical urban planning will not work in our area. Any and all discussion of the Little Blue Valley Plan should include features of keeping the rural character and "Green Open Spaces". We will have to set the bar high and hold a new vision that is currently lacking in KCMO. Careful planning will be necessary when incorporating commerical or businesses within these neighborhoods. WE CAN NOT ALLOW COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT DICTATE HOW NEIGHBORHOODS ARE BUILT WITHIN OUR AREA. NEIGHBORHOODS FIRST THEN SUPPORTING BUSINESS SECOND.
