Cindy Circo
5th District Councilwoman (At Large), Mayor Pro Tem
Cindy Circo was elected to the City Council in 2007. She has been a resident and small business owner in Kansas City for the past 25 years, establishing roots in the Country Valley Neighborhood in the eastern part of the 5th District. Cindy was raised in Independence, Mo., and also has lived in Kansas City’s Old Northeast area. Always active in public service, Cindy has served on various boards and committees and has been involved in the political process since childhood. Prior to her election, she served on the City’s Public Improvements Advisory Committee (PIAC)
Michael Brooks
5th District Councilman
Councilman Michael E. Brooks is a native of Kansas City, Mo. and was elected to serve the residents of Kansas City’s Fifth District in March 2011. He serves as a member of the Finance, Governance & Ethics Committee and the Public Safety & Emergency Services Committee, and currently serves on the Public Safety & Neighborhoods Committee.
John Sharp
6th District Councilman
John A. Sharp was elected to the 6th District seat on the City of Kansas City, Mo., City Council, which covers south Kansas City. He has been appointed to the Housing, Legislative, Plans and Zoning, and Public Safety and Neighborhoods Committees of the City Council. John previously served five terms in the Missouri House of Representatives, representing the Ruskin/Hickman Mills area, and two terms on the City Council from the 6th District. He was elected twice to the Hickman Mills Board of Education.
Scott Taylor
6th District Councilman (At Large)
Scott Taylor was elected to serve the residents of Kansas City’s Sixth District in March 2011 and serves as the At Large councilman. Prior to being elected to the Council, Scott served as Vice President to the Center School District Board. Scott has also served on a variety of community boards involving anti-crime efforts, mental health, drug treatment and education. Scott is an attorney specializing in business and trade development.
